ATM defunct for 8 years

The Central Bank of India’s ATM at Bhadukhar in Fatehpur has not been functional for the past eight years. It is nothing but a showpiece in the remote rural area of Fatehpur subdivision. The people who need cash urgently after local banks close for the day have to travel 23 km to reach Indora or 18 km to reach Fatehpur to avail the ATM facility of other banks. The bank’s customers have requested the authorities to fix the ATM several times but to no avail. The authorities should immediately solve this problem or remove the ATM cabin. —Mangal Singh, Bhadukhar (Fatehpur)

Vehicles parked on footpath

The Hamirpur administration had constructed footpaths in the town by covering the drains along the roads. Unfortunately, some people started using these footpaths for parking vehicles. The police, though quite prompt in issuing challans against the vehicles parked on the outskirts of the town, are paying no attention towards these violators. Hopefully, someone will look into it so that the public is not denied the use of footpaths. — Rakesh Kumar, Hamirpur
