Atri shines with bronze at Asian Yoga Championship

Yashovardhan Atri, a talented Yogasana player from Him Academy Public School, brought pride to India by winning a bronze medal in the 10th Asian Yoga Sports Championship (AYSC) held in Singapore from January 6 to 8. Competing in the 14-17 age group as part of the Indian team of the Yoga Federation of India, Yashovardhan demonstrated exceptional skill and dedication.

Acharya Mahendra Sharma, provincial president of the Himachal Yoga Association (HYA), praised Yashovardhan and his coach Acharya Raman Sharma for their hard work and commitment. He expressed confidence that this international achievement would lead to more victories for the young yoga prodigy.

On his return to Chandigarh, Yashovardhan was warmly welcomed by a team from HYA, as well as his school’s vice-principal, coach, and sports coordinator. His father, Narender Attri, shared his pride in his son’s consistent success over the past five years in district, state and national competitions. He expressed gratitude to the school and coaches for their unwavering support.

The championship saw participation from countries including India, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, the UAE, Iran, Thailand and Korea. The Indian team emerged victorious in the overall tally, with Singapore and Vietnam securing second and third places, respectively.

This international accomplishment marks a significant milestone in Yashovardhan’s journey and sets the stage for future triumphs in yoga sports.
