The Una police today arrested three persons belonging to Gurdaspur district in Punjab for attempting to kidnap a three-year-old child from Lalsingi village near Una city along the NH 503 A.

According to a press release by Una SP Arijit Sen Thakur, Lalsingi resident Gulzar Singh has lodged an FIR at the Una police station in this regard. As per the complainant, he was at his house and his son was playing near the roadside. Suddenly, he saw a man lifting his son and running away.

Gulzar Singh said he ran out and saw that two other persons were waiting on a motorcycle. Just as the accused tried to sit on the motorcycle along with the child, Gulzar grabbed him and snatched his son from him. The people standing nearby surrounded the three accused and called the police.

According to information, the accused have been identified as Mantan Chaudhary and Baldev Singh, both residents of Manchopra Sidhvama village and Kuldip Singh, a resident of Maan village, all in Gurdaspur district of Punjab. The three were riding motorcycle bearing registration number PB06AQ 7553.

A case under Sections 363, 511 and 34 of the IPC has been registered against the accused persons.
