Auckland House salutes student achievements

Boys shine in academics, arts, athletics at annual event

Students of Auckland House School for Boys showcased their talents through a series of cultural performances as the school celebrated its Senior Section Speech Day and Year-End Award Ceremony with pride and enthusiasm.

Home Guards & Civil Defence Commandant General Satwant Atwal Trivedi, an alumna of Auckland House School for Girls, was the chief guest at the event.

The ceremony began with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by the head boy’s report and the principal’s annual report, presented by Reuben T John. In his address, the principal highlighted key academic initiatives, including redesigned report cards for the senior school, the adoption of Phenomenon-Based Learning (PhBL) and faculty development through the International Award for Young People (IAYP) programme.

He said education at the school goes beyond academics, fostering resilience, character and a strong sense of purpose among its students.

The cultural segment featured English and Hindi plays, choir and instrumental performances, dance recitals and a moving patriotic presentation.

In her address, Trivedi urged students to embody courage, discipline and service to the nation. Drawing from her own career, she spoke of perseverance and integrity as guiding principles. She commended the principal, staff and students for their commitment to a holistic education and praised the discipline, creativity and spirit evident in the day’s performances.

The event also included a prize distribution ceremony, recognising excellence across academics, co-curricular activities and sports. Highlights from the year included notable student achievements in volleyball, shooting, cycling and athletics at both state and national levels.

The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem, inspiring students and parents alike to live by the school’s enduring motto: ‘Altiora Peto — I Seek Higher Things’.
