Ayush kit for persons in home quarantine in Sirmaur

The Sirmaur administration has launched an Ayush kit which is being provided to persons in home quarantine and frontline officials.

Deputy Commissioner RK Pruthi said initially the kit would be provided to about 2,600 home-quarantined persons by the staff of the Ayurveda Department.

A local firm Achyutaya Hariom Pharma at Paonta Sahib is manufacturing it. At a time when the firms are suffering owing to the pandemic, this has helped in generating employment.At least 10,000 kits will be distributed in the district.

Officials said the pandemic impacted senior citizens, persons with comorbidities and children. The kit would also be given to them to boost their immunity.

The products in the kit has natural ingredients like basil, cinnamon, dry ginger and pepper. People can also prepare the kadha (herbal tea), which is a proven immunity booster, at home, added Dr Pruthi.

Besides, preventive prophylaxis tablet Samshamani Vati (made of giloy) and arsenicum alblum-30 globules are also being provided. The staff of the Ayurveda Department are also explaining about its use to the recipients.

Dr Pruthi added that the operation ‘Nigah’ was launched by the government to keep a watch on the persons in home quarantine. The department would carry out surveillance across the district. Doctors would visit people in home quarantine and collect all necessary details. They would also register the vulnerable section such as senior citizens, persons with comorbidities, and children below 10 years of age.

Earlier, the police staff were also provided chyavanprash.
