Chairing a meeting to establish the society, the DC announced that its office would be set up within the District AYUSH Office. “The primary objective of the society is to effectively implement the National AYUSH Mission in the district,” he stated. “It will oversee key functions such as developing infrastructure for the Ayurveda department, procuring medicines and executing various centrally sponsored schemes.”

He further emphasised that the society’s responsibilities will include recruiting personnel, monitoring centrally funded projects, framing operational guidelines and ensuring regular updates for smooth functioning. “Periodic review meetings will also be conducted to assess progress and make informed decisions,” he added.

The society will be chaired by the DC, with the Additional Deputy Commissioner serving as co-chairperson. The executive body will be led by the District AYUSH Officer, with the senior-most Sub-Divisional AYUSH Medical Officer acting as the member secretary.
