As per the Police Department, she was granted leave as she wanted to visit her hometown in Uttar Pradesh to attend her mother, who was said to be unwell. The Police Department confirmed it after reports of the SP’s rift with a Congress MLA started to make news.

At present, Vinod Kumar, Commandant of 8th Battalion, Home Guards in Chamba district, has been overseeing police operations in Baddi. He has been given the responsibility till Afroz resumes her duties on her return from leave.
