The Baijnath police has initiated a 15-day campaign, Shramik Sanket, in the subdivision for the registration of migrant labourers in the region.

The drive, which began today, seeks to enhance the tracking and monitoring of migrant labourers by issuing official certificates marked with the stamp of the respective police stations.

Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Anil Sharma announced that the registration process would be conducted across the subdivision, with each police station maintaining a dedicated register for migrant labourers, based on region. This comprehensive effort builds on previous registration initiatives to ensure that the administration has a complete record of all migrant labourers in the area.

Under the campaign, migrant labourers are required to renew their registration every month. Landlords must verify the current address of their tenants to ensure accurate and up-to-date records. Additionally, Parcha-12 will be issued to the police station concerned in regards a migrant labourer’s permanent address to verify the authenticity of the provided information.

The SDPO has called upon all stakeholders, including panchayat pradhans, councillors, contractors, shopkeepers and landlords, to ensure the registration of their employees and tenants. Individuals seeking registration must present their Aadhar Card, along with a verification from their landlords or employers. Non-compliance with these requirements may lead to action under relevant sections of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita or the Police Act. The police further assured labourers and employers that they would offer all necessary assistance to facilitate the registration process.

The campaign is a part of the Police Department’s broader efforts to maintain law and order and ensure the safety and security of citizens. Registration would be conducted at each police station within the subdivision — Baijnath, Bir and Lambagaon police stations.
