The Una police today arrested Dinesh, alias Kaku, a resident of Androuli village in Bangana subdivision for the murder of his wife Dineshwari Devi. DSP (Headquarters) Ajay Thakur, while addressing mediapersons here today, said the incident took place on February 16 at the house of the deceased.

The DSP said the deceased’s sister-in-law Soni, a resident of New Seri village in Rohru tehsil of Shimla district, had complained that on February 16, Dineshwari’s family members had informed their family on telephone regarding her death. On reaching Androuli, Soni reportedly noticed a blue line mark on Dineshwari’s neck and promptly lodged a FIR at the Bangana police station.

The DSP said the forensic examination of the body was conducted, which concluded that the deceased had been strangulated. Further investigations revealed that Dineshwari and Dinesh had entered into a love marriage about six years ago. Dinesh, who was working in Delhi, had reportedly not visited his house in Androuli for the last four years.

Ajay Thakur said upon tracing the locations of Dinesh’s mobile phone, it was revealed that he was at Androuli on the day of the incident and had left for Delhi on the same day by boarding a train from Amb Andaura railway station. He said a police party was dispatched to Delhi to nab the accused.
