Bank donates Rs 7L for public washrooms in Nauni varsity

The Nauni branch of UCO bank will lend support for the construction of public washrooms at Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

The new washrooms will be located near the university’s shopping complex, an area which is frequented by students and the public. The bank has donated Rs 7.06 lakh towards the project.

A cheque was handed over to the university Vice-Chancellor, Prof Rajeshwar Singh Chandel, at the university campus. The bank officials comprising Joydeep Chatterjee, DGM IT Head Office, Kolkata; Pradeep Anand Kesari, Zonal Head Shimla; Sandeep Sehroy, Senior Manager, Nauni, and Navjeet Singh Negi, Assistant Branch Head, Nauni, were present on the occasion.

The new facilities will include separate washrooms for men and women, as well as accessibility for people with disabilities.

The university’s estate organisation has already completed design of the washrooms and construction will begin soon. Prof Chandel expressed his gratitude to UCO Bank for its prompt action and support in building the much-needed public washrooms.

Joydeep Chatterjee provided an overview of the bank’s ongoing CSR efforts, emphasising its commitment to supporting social causes. The ceremony was attended by the statutory officers of the university who appreciated the bank’s contribution.
