Bar council seeks public apology from Fatehpur MLA

The Bar Council of Himachal Pradesh has condemned a statement made by Fatehpur MLA Bhawani Singh Pathania on the floor of the Assembly seeking action against advocates defending the accused in some specific cases.

The Bar Council, which convened a Special General House meeting here today, resolved to demand a public apology from the MLA. They also requested the Speaker of the Vidhan Sabha, Kuldeep Singh Pathania, to take action against Bhawani Pathania, expunge his statement and expel him from the House for the rest of the session.

The Bar Council has called upon all Bar Associations in the state to lodge their protest against the Fatehpur MLA, seeking a public apology within 48 hours. If the MLA fails to apologize, the Bar Council may initiate agitation, seeking his resignation.
