Basketball tourney begins at Sanawar

The Lawrence School, Sanawar, is hosting the three-day All-India IPSC Basketball Tournament 2025 for Girls (under-14), which commenced today with 13 leading IPSC schools from across the country participating. The opening day witnessed spirited performances, showcasing teamwork, skill, and sportsmanship among the young athletes.

The participating schools are Daly College and Emerald Heights International School (Indore), Genesis Global School (Noida), Hyderabad Public School (Begumpet), LK Singhania Education Centre (Gotan), Modern School (New Delhi), Mody School (Lakshmangarh), Pinegrove School (Dharampur), The Sanskaar Valley School (Bhopal), The Lawrence School (Lovedale), Vidya Devi Jindal School (Hisar), Yadavindra Public School (Mohali and the host, The Lawrence School, Sanawar.

In the day’s key matches, Yadavindra Public School, Mohali, edged past Daly College, Indore, 10–8. Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet, dominated Genesis Global School, Noida, with a 41–2 victory, while Vidya Devi Jindal School, Hisar, outplayed Mody School, Lakshmangarh, 34–2. The Sanskaar Valley School, Bhopal, defeated Lawrence School, Lovedale ,15–0, and Emerald Heights International School, Indore, won against the hosts 12–7.

Addressing the gathering, Headmaster Himmat Singh Dhillon highlighted the role of sports in nurturing discipline, resilience and camaraderie among students, urging all participants to play with passion and fairness.
