A complete ban has been imposed on all unauthorised tourism and commercial activities for the next two months on the banks of the Ashwani khud and Giri River near Shani Temple in Ser Banera village.
Solan District Magistrate Manmohan Sharma issued these orders today, invoking Section 163 of the Indian Civil Security Code (2023).
According to these orders, there will be a complete ban on bathing in the Ashwani khud and the Giri in the limits of Solan district. Picnics on their banks has also been banned.
Owing to the heavy rains during the ongoing monsoons, going near the banks of rivers and nullahs can prove fatal. Incidents of cloudbursts and landslides can also occur, causing a sudden rise in water level, which can pose a threat to the lives of people.
According to directions, the local police will ensure compliance of these instructions by establishing active coordination with the District Tourism Officer. In case of violation of these orders, legal action would be taken as per rules.
