Three persons, including a woman from Ludhiana, lost their lives in a severe road accident at Tahliwal village in Haroli sub-division late last night. According to the FIR filed by Una police, Aman, a resident of Ajauli and one of the survivors, reported that he and three friends were travelling from Mehatpur to Tahliwal to celebrate the birthday of their friend Mayank, a resident of Mehatpur. The group also included Taranjeet from Poona village and Abhimanyu from Dehlan.
The FIR states that at Santoshgarh, a woman identified as Kiran, a resident of Ludhiana, took a lift in their vehicle. Near Tahliwal, their car (HP 72 B 3737) collided head-on with a truck (HP 72 D 5355). The impact was fatal for Mayank, Taranjeet and Kiran, while Aman and Abhimanyu sustained injuries. The police have registered a case against the truck driver, Jatinder Singh of Dhugge village in Haroli.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri expressed deep grief over the tragic deaths.
