At just 10 years of age, Dhriti Rana of Kasauli is proving that discipline and dedication know no bounds. Having begun her training at the tender age of two, the Class VI student of St. Mary’s Convent School, Kasauli, is gradually carving her place in the rare yet rewarding field of yogasana — a discipline that unites the body and mind while fostering physical health, mental clarity and spiritual growth.

Dhriti recently brought laurels to her school by winning three gold medals at the State Yogasana Sports Championship organised by the Himachal Pradesh Yogasana Sports Association at Career Point University, Hamirpur. She was felicitated for her achievement during a special function held at the institute last evening.

Her passion for yoga stems from her mother, Renu Rana, who first introduced her to the practice and continues to guide her. Over the years, Dhriti’s skills were further honed under the expert mentorship of yoga coach Shashi Dogra, with additional professional training from Shalini, preparing her for competitive yogasana.

Her consistent hard work has already taken her to the national stage multiple times. She represented Himachal Pradesh in Firozpur (October 2022), Una (November 2024) and at Panchkula (December 2024) during the Pythian National Games — a unique event that blends cultural and sporting competitions including music, dance, poetry, athletics and wrestling.

Beyond championships, Dhriti has showcased her talent in various reality shows within and outside Himachal, with her father, Ravi Rana, accompanying her to tournaments and instilling in her the confidence needed to shine. Despite a demanding schedule, Dhriti dedicates three hours daily to yoga practice alongside her studies, a commitment that reflects both discipline and passion.
