MC Ekta Kapata Commissioner said it had come to their notice that that some persons were demanding Rs 6,000 to Rs 7,000 from the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban under the MC’s name to get the instalments released, which was completely illegal.

Ekta Kapata said if any beneficiary was asked to pay any such amount telephonically on the behalf of any officer or employee of the MC, they should inform the Commissioner so that legal action could be taken against them.
