Bhanupalli-Leh rail line project makes steady progress in Mandi dist

The construction of much-anticipated Bhanupalli-Leh railway track is steadily advancing with significant progress being made in Mandi district. The latest phase of the project saw the installation of several ‘burjis’— temporary support structures — near Takoli, an important milestone in the construction process.

‘Burjis’ serve a vital role in stabilising the railway trackbed, particularly as the railway route navigates the challenging terrain of the Himalayas. These structures are essential in maintaining the alignment and integrity of the track, especially in areas with steep gradients and difficult topography.
