'Bhoomi pujan' for civil hospital block, ITI building performed
Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Minister Chander Kumar today performed Bhoomi Pujan to kickstart the construction of an additional block of 50-bed civil hospital at Jawali in his native Assembly constituency in Kangra district on Tuesday. An amount of Rs 6.42 crore will be spent on its construction.
The minister also performed the same ritual for the construction of an additional building of Government Industrial Training Institute at Jawali on which Rs 7.83 crore would be spent.
While addressing a gathering, Kumar said the state government was committed to strengthening health care facilities in the state. For this purpose, the government had earmarked a budget of Rs 3,415 crore in the current fiscal year.
He said that to strengthen health infrastructure the government had also decided to establish one model health institution in every Assembly constituency across the state.
“Apart from this, the government is also rendering financial support to the patients for treatment of complex diseases from the Chief Minister Medical Assistance Fund,” he said.
The Agriculture Minister said the state government is also trying to create new employment opportunities for the youth. The state government is opening new streams in ITI as per needs of the industries. He said that in today's era, drones have an important role to play in fields like construction, agriculture, medicine, etc. Hence, to provide drone technology-based education to the youth, new courses have been introduced in the industrial training institutes of the state, which also include subjects like artificial intelligence.
On this occasion, the minister also listened to the public grievances and gave instructions to the officials to solve them.
