The Excise and Taxation Department has ranked Bilaspur district as first in the state, according to the monthly performance card for September, while Nurpur revenue district is last.
The performance was evaluated on four parameters — recovery of ineligible input tax credit (ITC), recovery of interest liability for late filing of GSTR3B returns, verification of e-way bills and recovery under the legacy resolution scheme.
Overall, Bilaspur was ranked first, followed by Sirmaur, Hamirpur, Kangra, Mandi, Chamba, Baddi, Kinnaur, Solan, Una, Shimla, Kullu and Nurpur.
Bilaspur also ranked first in the recovery of ineligible ITC while Chamba topped the chart for recovery under the legacy resolution scheme and Hamirpur took the lead in the recovery of interest liability, besides verification of 1,307 e-way bills.
Commissioner, Excise and Taxation, Rohan Chand Thakur said that incentives would be given to the districts, which perform well.
The revenue increased to Rs 530.11 crore in September 2020 against Rs 487.37 crore in the same month last year (an increase of 10 per cent) and the trend continued this month (till October 27) with Rs 425 crore compared to Rs 359.39 crore in September last year, an increase of 21 per cent.
