Former BJP MP Rajan Sushant today launched ‘Hamari Party Himachal Party’. Declaring that the party would contest all 68 constituencies in the next Assembly elections, the Kangra leader said there was a need for a third party as both the BJP and Congress had pushed the state to the brink.
State on the brink
Both the BJP and the Congress have destroyed Himachal’s economy, unemployment is on the rise and the state’s natural resources are being sold.
“The BJP and Congress CMs have always behaved as ‘subedars’ of the Delhi darbar, seeking permission for everything. A regional party is the only option now,” he stressed.
In HP, the Congress and the BJP have dominated the political landscape for decades. Any attempt to forge a third front, such as the Himachal Vikas Party, has been rejected by the voters in the past.
“The earlier attempts to provide an alternative to the people were not serious. Those parties were formed keeping the elections in mind. Ours will be an issue-based party and will work for the interests of the state,” Sushant explained, adding that the party’s organisational structure would be raised in the next six months. Rajan Sushant was elected to the Lok Sabha in 2009 from the Kangra constituency.
