Shimla, April 19

Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh today said the Congress did not need to take lesson in nationalism and dynastic politics from the BJP. “Two prime ministers from the Congress Party — Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi — sacrificed their lives for the country. What could be a greater example of nationalism than that? Many leaders of the Congress have shed their blood and sweat in building the country,” said Singh.

The minister further said that the BJP should clarify the definition of dynasty politics. “In the Lok Sabha elections, more than 50 BJP candidates from the state and elsewhere in the country come from some political families. The BJP leaders are unable to see the dynasty politics in their own party and are giving statements to mislead the people of the state,” said the minister.

“The BJP leaders are making such statements to divert attention of the people from the real problems, but the Congress will continue to draw people’s attention to the real issues of the elections,” he added.

The minister further said that people were asking what had happened to the BJP’s promise of providing two crore jobs every year.

“Did the BJP provide employment to 20 crore people in the country in 10 years? The people of the country also want to know what happened to the promise of giving Rs 15 lakh to every person. Why is LPG cylinder available for Rs 1,100 today? Why have the rates of petrol and diesel reached Rs 100?” the minister asked.

He further said the electoral bond scheme was the biggest scam in the history of the country, which had been exposed by the Supreme Court. He said that the Central Government misused government agencies to extort money from companies and took donations through electoral bonds.
