A delegation, led by BJP MLA Janak Raj, met Chamba Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal and submitted a memorandum to him, demanding financial relief for families affected by the recent fire incidents in the Bharmour Assembly constituency. Through the memorandum, members have urged the government to provide Rs 7 lakh to each family, similar to the assistance granted to fire victims in Tandi village of Kullu.

The MLA said the state government had provided Rs 7 lakh each to families impacted by the devastating fire in Tandi village. He praised the government for its compassionate approach and emphasised the need for similar support for victims in Pangi and Holi tehsils of the Bharmour constituency.

“In these unfortunate incidents, several families have lost their homes, livelihoods and properties. Providing them with financial aid on the same lines as Tandi village is crucial to help them rebuild their lives,” he said.

The memorandum also stressed the importance of uniform relief measures across the state to ensure fairness and prevent regional discrimination. A list of 13 affected individuals was submitted to the DC along with the request.
