State media in-charge and Naina Devi BJP MLA Randhir Sharma today hit out at Industries and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan for allegedly providing misleading figures on the Central assistance to Himachal.

Sharma, in a statement issued here, claimed that the figures presented by the minister varied from the date of the central assistance that the state government had mentioned in its reply to a question during the Vidhan Sabha session. “The minister’s effort to present distorted facts was merely to hide the failure of the state government,” he added.

He said that the minister had stated that Himachal Pradesh had received only Rs 4,253 crore from the Central Government, while in the reply to the question in the Assembly, the state government had stated that Himachal received Rs 3,250 crore as disaster relief between 2022 and 2025. “Besides, Himachal got Rs 2,006 crore for the 2023 natural disaster and of this, it had already received the first instalment of Rs 451.44 crore. With this, the total amount comes to Rs 5,250 crore,” he added.
