Shimla, January 29
The BJP Legislature Party met here today to chalk out a strategy for the forthcoming Budget session of the Vidhan Sabha. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Leader of the Opposition and former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur. “Though several issues were discussed at the meeting, we chalked out a strategy to corner the state government over its failure to fulfil poll guarantees,” said Rakesh Jamwal, Sundernagar MLA and state BJP spokesperson.

We will raise the issue of denotification of schools, colleges, health institutions and offices opened by the previous BJP government during the forthcoming Budget session. The Congress government has set a wrong precedent. — Rakesh Jamwal, BJP Spokesperson
The session will commence on February 14 and Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu will present the Budget on February 17. It will have 13 sittings and will conclude on February 29.
Jamwal said that the BJP would adopt an aggressive posture to expose the failure of the Congress government to fulfil the 10 guarantees it had given to people before the 2022 Assembly elections. “The issue of de-notification of schools, colleges, health institutions and other offices opened by the previous BJP government will also be raised during the session,” he added.
He said that preparing party workers for the coming Lok Sabha elections was also discussed at the meeting.
