Shimla, June 24
Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj today said that the state government was working to ensure the implementation of the Swarnim Himachal Pradesh Drishti Patra-2017, the vision document of the BJP released during the last Assembly elections.
Bhardwaj, chairman of the Cabinet sub-committee constituted for the implementation of the vision document, here today said, “It is the priority of the government to fulfil the vision prepared for the uplift of all sections of society and equitable development of all areas”. Bhardwaj said that as per the guidelines of the state government, the administration was ensuring that agricultural and horticulture produce were transported to the markets at reasonable rates. He added that a grievance redress cell had been set up at the directorate level for transportation-related problems. Eight locations had been selected to establish transport cities at the district headquarters level and Rs 12 crore had been released for infrastructure and other facilities in these cities.
Industries Minister Bikram Singh, a member of the sub-committee, said that employment had been provided to 606 students of engineering, pharmacy and polytechnic institutes and 9,139 students of industrial training institutes. Besides, 249 trainees had been employed under the scheme of community development through polytechnics.
Transport Minister Govind Singh Thakur said the HRTC was operating 25 electric buses in Kullu and adjoining towns and 50 electric taxis in various towns of the state. — TNS
