BJP state president Rajeev Bindal today said that the party would complete the process for the formation of its units right from the booth level to the state level tomorrow.
Bindal, while addressing mediapersons here, said that over the next two days, the selection process for district executive committees in all 17 districts of the party would be completed. “The BJP with its 18 lakh primary members, 27,000 active members, 171 mandals and 17 districts is all geared up for the next Assembly elections,” he added.
He said, “On Monday morning, the selection process was started in Chamba, Palampur, Kangra, Dehra, Shimla, Mahasu and Sundernagar. The process will be completed in the remaining districts by tomorrow.” He added that the district presidents of 17 units had already been appointed.
Bindal said, “There will be 255 officer-bearers in 17 party districts and 874 members (513 from the general category, 358 women and 258 from the SC, ST and OBC categories) to ensure that all sections get proper representation.” The new team would work to strengthen the party and take forward its ideology to people, he added.
He said that on August 9, BJP workers would plant 11 saplings in each polling booth. “On August 15, a Tiranga Yatra will be held in all 171 mandals while on August 14, the party will observe Partition Day, which had caused pain and agony to thousands of families,” he added.
