A meeting of the BJP’s state-level Election Planning Committee was held today at the district BJP office where party’s national general secretary Dushyant Gautam was the chief guest.
Other members of the committee are state BJP president Rajeev Bindal, Rajya Sabha MP Sikander Kumar, Union Minister and Hamirpur MP Anurag Thakur, former Chief Ministers Prem Kumar Dhumal and Jai Ram Thakur, state party in-charge Avinash Rai Khanna, former BJP MPs, besides former state party presidents and some nominated.
At the meeting, the strategy to be adopted in the coming three months for the forthcoming general elections was discussed. Bindal said that the party leadership and the workers were geared up for the parliamentary elections and that the BJP would win all four Lok Sabha seats in Himachal.
Bindal said that the names of probable candidates for the four seats were not on the agenda. He added that the party top leadership would finalise the candidates in consultation with the party’s parliamentary board. Earlier, the BJP leaders initiated a wall writing campaign at the venue, which would be carried forward to streets and other localities.
