The event was inaugurated by Himachal Pradesh Congress President and Singh’s wife Pratibha Singh, along with their daughter — retired Chief Justice Abhilasha Kumari. Local MLA and Chairman of the 7th State Finance Commission Nand Lal was also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Pratibha Singh said that such camps not only honour the memory of the former Chief Minister, but also serves humanity. “Donating blood is one of the noblest acts. It can help save lives and bring real impact to someone in need,” she added.
She further emphasized that the Congress has always stood for service and development — values which Singh upheld throughout his six-time tenure as the Chief Minister. “Virbhadra Singh dedicated his life for the development of Himachal. The younger generation must draw inspiration from such events,” she further stated.
“Before this, a state-level boxing championship was held in Shimla. Blood donation camps are being held at multiple locations. Tomorrow, on the occasion of Chaurkha, several senior leaders are expected to attend a special ceremony in Rampur,” Nand Lal stated.
