Body of unidentified woman found in Madanpur Basoli

A body of an unidentified woman was found today in the forest area of Madanpur Basoli panchayat of Una district. According to the Una police, local resident Gopal Rana (43) reported that he had ancestral land in the forest area of the village and that in the afternoon, he went there to inspect the land.
Reaching there, he noticed some red colour clothing and upon close inspection, he saw the dead body of a woman lying there. He immediately rushed back to his father who was in the car. Rana’s father called the panchayat members who further informed the police.
The body appeared to be that of a migrant worker and could not be identified. The body bore injury marks near the ears, on the head and forehead. A pool of clotted blood was also found underneath the body.
As per the police information, the body was bare and the woman appeared to have been brutally murdered.
The statement of Gopal Rana was recorded under Section 154 of the CrPC and a case has been registered under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code and further investigation was underway.
