Malender Rajan, Congress MLA from Indora, yesterday said that India should not play cricket with Pakistan in the Asia Cup. He raised the concern during the Zero Hour during the monsoon session in the Assembly and said that India playing Pakistan was not appropriate in view of the strained relations with the neighbouring country and the permission given to the Indian cricket team should be withdrawn.
Rajan said that letters should be written to the Central Government and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) through the Assembly Secretariat to seek the withdrawal of the permission given to the Indian team to play matches with Pakistan. “Having sporting relations with Pakistan in view of the recent events will not be in good taste. It will be against nationalistic sentiments. Also, it will be injustice to the martyrs and their families,” he added.
