Hamirpur, August 13
Two labourers from UP were killed after a part of the shuttering of an under-construction bridge on the Kiratpur-NerChowk highway collapsed in Bilaspur yesterday.
The construction work on the bridge connecting Mandi to Bhari and Rishikesh was in progress when a part of the shuttering collapsed and two labourers fell down. They sustained serious injuries and died on the way to hospital.
Bilaspur SP Devakar Sharma said the police were investigating. He said the bodies were handed over to their relatives after post-mortem.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Sandeep Sankhyan demanded the registration of a case against the construction company. He said the two workers were not given any safety gear. — OC
