Brief:15 samples taken in Jawali for Covid testing

NURPUR: A team of the Health Department led by Nurpur Senior Medical Officer (SMO) Dilwar Singh on Tuesday collected samples of 15 persons in Jawali for Covid-19 testing. These persons with influenza (cold, cough and temperature) symptoms were identified during the active case finding (ACF) drive. The collected samples were sent to Tanda Medical College, Kangra. The SMO said all 23 samples from Nurpur sent earlier were negative for Covid-19. OC

Two deer found dead in tea garden

Dharamsala: Two deer were found dead in a tea garden near the Chilgari area of Dharamsala on Tuesday morning. Conservator of Forest Devraj Kaushal said that while one of the ‘sambars’ was killed by a leopard, the other was fatally injured while trying to jump over the barbed fence of a house. Due to the lockdown, wild animals have started coming to nearby towns and villages. There have been reports that some animal poachers are staying near human habitations. TNS

PM inquires after Governor’s health

Shimla: Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Governor Bandaru Dattatreya on the phone and inquired after his health and the situation in Himachal Pradesh with regard to Covid-19. Dattatreya told the Prime Minister that he was regularly interacting with state government officials, besides Vice-Chancellors of various universities and intellectuals. He said that the state was moving towards revival from coronavirus. TNS
