Briefly: 15 gm of Banned drug seized
The special investigation unit( SIU) of the Solan police seized 15 grams of methaqualone, a narcotic substance, from a Shimla youth travelling in a Haryana Roadways bus enroute Shimla near Solan . Solan SP Gaurav Singh said a case under Section 21 of the Narcotic Drugs & Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered.
Rohtang: Aar Paar set for release
Shimla: A book ‘Rohtang: Aar Paar’ by noted Hindi poet Ajey from Lahul and Spiti will be released in the ongoing World Book Fair in New Delhi. The Himalayas have been the central theme of all his writings. Whether it’s poetry or any form of non-fiction prose - memoirs, diary, commentary, letters, conversations, reportage, travelogues or essays, the subject remains the Himalayas. “My travelogues contain concerns of the mountain, its natives and its fragile ecology and social fabric,” the author said. The environment of the Himalayas and how Lahul-Spiti, the author's native place, fits into that vast Himalayan landscape is the author’s primary concern. His memoirs span from the childhood to the age of 60, from 1965 to 2025.
