Briefly: Dy CM discusses ropeway project
Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnohotri discussed the Shimla Ropeway project with members of New Development Bank (NDB), Shanghai. A three-member team of NDB from Shanghai met Agnihotri here today and discussed various issues related to funding of the Shimla Ropeway Project. The Deputy CM assured the team that all necessary formalities would be completed by the state government so that the bank could proceed further with the loan negotiations with the Department of Economic Affairs as per the timeline fixed in the memorandum. Agnihotri said that the project would go a long way in reducing traffic congestion in the town and help reduce carbon footprints, paving the way for a mission of greener and cleaner Himachal. Besides this, the ropeway will also be the faster mode of transportation, he added. The Rs 1734 crore ropeway project will have 13 boarding and de-boarding stations with a total length of 13.80 km.
