Briefly: Economic Census from April
Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap said the work of Economic Census 2025-26 would start from April. He said the work would be undertaken as per the guidelines issued by the state-level committee. The information obtained from this census is used for socio-economic development and planning at the state and district-level. The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation conducted the 7th Economic Census in 2019. This census would cover all establishments, including household enterprises. It would use an IT-based digital platform for data capture, validation, report generation and dissemination. He said by the end of April, enumerators and supervisors would be deployed for economic census. In this, Anganwadi and ASHA workers would work as enumerators while patwari, panchayat secretary and assistant would be deployed as supervisors.
