As many as 22 persons, including a BSF man and two Army jawans, tested Covid positive today, taking the tally in the state to 916.

The maximum number of 11 persons tested positive in Kangra. Three cases each were reported in Solan and Una while one each was reported in Bilaspur, Kinnaur, Mandi, Sirmaur and Shimla district.

Eleven more persons tested positive in Kangra, taking the number of cases in the district to 262. Those tested positive include a seven-year-old child. He was in home quarantine at Gurial village in Fatehpur. He had came from Rangareddy district in Tamil Nadu. The child was asymptomatic. A BSF jawan from Jindri village in Indora and an Army soldier of Rakkar near Dharamsala were also found infected. They have been shifted to the Covid Containment Centre at Dadh.

Industrial unit sealed

An industrial unit, Sweet Industries, at Sector-1 in Parwanoo was sealed after an employee’s wife, who was working at a hospital in Panchkula, tested positive. DSP, Parwanoo, Yogesh Rolta, said her contact tracing was under way.

An 18-year-old girl, who had returned from Ukraine and was in institutional quarantine at a Sanwara hotel, tested positive. A 48-year-old Army man, who was a Delhi returnee and had come to Paonta Sahib on June 24, tested positive. He was in institutional quarantine and was shifted to the Trilokpur Covid Care Centre.
