The Samagra Shiksha signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to provide broadband internet connectivity to senior secondary schools in rural areas to enhance the quality of education. The MoU was signed by Rajesh Sharma, Director, Samagra Shiksha, and Raj Kumar, DGM, BSNL.

Calling it a historic decision, Sharma said 2,809 rural senior secondary schools will be provided with high-speed internet connectivity through Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) technology under this initiative. “This will enable students to access online educational resources, digital libraries and other digital tools that will enhance their learning experience. He further said the state government plans to prepare feasibility report for schools that do not have internet connectivity and provide broadband connectivity to them soon.
