Budgam voters can cast postal ballots: Kangra DC

Voters from the 27-Budgam Assembly constituency in Jammu and Kashmir, who are currently residing in Kangra district, can now use the postal ballot facility, as per directions from the Election Commission of India.

The District Election Officer and Kangra DC Hemraj Bairwa said the ECI has issued a standard operating procedure (SOP) for online submission of Form-M and Form-12C for migrant voters in connection with the Budgam byelection. The facility will be available both online and offline.

Eligible voters, those possessing a Migrant Registration Certificate issued by the Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, Jammu and Kashmir, can download the forms from the Election Commission or VSP websites. The completed forms, along with a current residence certificate, must be submitted to the nearest Electoral Registration Officer (ERO).

The ERO will verify and forward the forms to Jammu, Udhampur, or Delhi, where the respective ARO will complete the final verification process.
