Bumber Thakur should focus on his treatment instead of making politically motivated statements:  Jai Ram Thakur

BJP legislators on Monday held a protest against the "deteriorating law and order" in the state ahead of the budget presentation.

Leading the protest, Leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur stated that the assault on former Congress MLA Bumber Thakur was a consequence of the ongoing gang war in Bilaspur, reflecting the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.

While condemning the firing incident that left the former MLA injured, Thakur criticised the "political statements" Bumber Thakur had been making from the hospital.

"He should focus on his treatment instead of making politically motivated statements," he said.

Claiming that the law and order situation had reached its lowest ebb under the Congress government, Thakur alleged that the government had kept the police busy in surveillance of political rivals, thereby contributing to the deterioration of law and order in the state.
