Buraansh gets Himachal Handicraft & Handloom Excellence Award-2025
Buraansh, a Shimla-based social enterprise, has been awarded the Himachal Handicraft and Handloom Excellence Award-2025 for their achievements in digital innovation.
The award was presented by Minister for Horticulture, Revenue and Tribal Affairs Jagat Singh Negi along with Additional Chief Secretary RD Nazeem.
Siddharth Lakhanpal and Gautami, co-founders of the organisation, received the award at Him Mahotsava at Dilli Haat, Delhi.
They were awarded the first prize in recognition of their contribution towards preserving and promoting the heritage of the state through integrating digital tools in craft-production, marketing and storytelling.
Husband-wife duo Siddharth Lakhanpal and Gautami launched Buraansh in February 2020 with an aim to empower rural Himalayan communities, selling their products digitally and providing digital marketing training to farmer producer organisations, women’s collectives and self-help groups.
