Cambridge school hosts eco-conscious workshops

Cambridge International School (CIS), Mohal, Kullu, was abuzz with energy as it hosted a series of transformative workshops aimed at fostering creativity, environmental awareness, and informed career planning. The event saw active participation from students, teachers, and Eco Club members, brought together under the guidance of the Wipro Earthian Project and the Azim Premji Foundation.

The Wipro Earthian team opened the day with interactive sessions centered on sustainability and ecological responsibility. Through thought-provoking discussions and engaging activities, students were encouraged to critically examine pressing environmental issues and brainstorm innovative, eco-friendly solutions. The sessions not only deepened their understanding of global ecological challenges but also instilled a strong sense of personal accountability towards the planet’s future.

Parallel to these sessions, the Azim Premji Foundation conducted a creative writing workshop that blended environmental themes with storytelling. Students were invited to express their connection with nature through powerful narratives and reflective writing. This unique combination of creativity and environmental education inspired participants to use words as tools for advocacy and awareness, showcasing how art can catalyze meaningful change.

A specialised career counselling session was also held exclusively for Class 12 students. This focused session offered valuable insights into academic and professional opportunities in today’s dynamic job market. Students were guided to reflect on their strengths, interests, and aspirations, helping them chart informed career paths. The discussion also encouraged self-awareness, goal setting, and long-term planning.

A total of 105 students—50 from the Eco Club and 55 from Class 12—along with five dedicated science teachers, actively engaged in the day-long workshops. The event was marked by vibrant exchanges of ideas, critical thinking, and enthusiastic participation.

Reflecting on the success of the event, Principal Raina Verma expressed sincere appreciation to both the Wipro Earthian Project and the Azim Premji Foundation. She remarked, “These workshops have truly inspired our students. They not only gained valuable knowledge but also developed the curiosity and sense of responsibility needed to become global citizens. We look forward to hosting more such enriching initiatives in the future.”
