Solan SP Gaurav Singh said Sandeep Negi, a resident of Sadhupul who runs a campsite in the area, lodged a complaint with the police on Wednesday that, on December 31, his cousin Ankush Negi and their friends Lekhraj and Parvez Khan were warming themselves by the fire at the campsite, when three youngsters — Mohit, Vipul and their friend — came to visit him.

They expressed a desire to hold a party at his camp site, which he refused. Following this, they argued with him and left the site.

On 1 January, at around 1.45 pm, Ankush heard loud noise outside his room as someone was frantically knocking the door. The door was then forcefully opened by Mohit, Vipul and their accomplices.

They beat Sandeep and his cousin, causing them to sustain injuries.
