The Shoolini University of Biotechnology and Management Sciences established a state-of-the-art cancer research centre on its campus, which houses five research groups actively engaged in the research on various aspects of cancer biology such as herbal cancer therapy, cancer immunotherapy, drug delivery and chemical biology group. It was inaugurated by Raj Khosla, a philanthropist from Thailand, who has made an endowment of Rs1 crore to set up the centre. Khosla said the centre would help strengthen the pioneering cancer research being undertaken at the university. Vice Chancellor Prof PK Khosla said a state-of-the-art food and drug testing laboratory funded by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries was also part of the centre. Khosla said the centre would try to develop better formulations to control different forms of cancer by innovative therapies.
Student wins bronze in high jump
Aditya Veer Sain, a student of MCM DAV Public School, Baghni, Nurpur, has brought laurels to the school by winning a bronze medal in high jump (Under-19) Boys DAV National Sports-2019 held in Hyderabad. Principal MR Rana greeted the student and wished him good luck. He said students must try to excel not just in academics but also in all other co-curricular activities such as sports, debate and performing arts.
Declare revaluation results: ABVP
Demanding declaration of revaluation results, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) submitted a memorandum to the Controller of Education, HPU. The campus president of HPU, Vishal, said the students who had got revaluation done after the declaration of the RUSA results in October 2019 were still awaiting their results. He said almost 50 per cent students had failed in one or the other subjects and had gone in for revaluation but the results were yet to be declared. He said the HPU administration had been committing irregularities in the implementation of RUSA, which was affecting the interest of the student community. He threatened that in case the authorities failed to declare the results within next 10 days, the ABVP would launch a statewide agitation.
