A 12-day capacity building programme on “Legal research methodology, research, and publication ethics” has concluded at Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla. The programme began on October 16. Various aspects of research methods, including legal philosophy, publication ethics, data literacy, research writing, open access resources and quantitative and qualitative data analysis, were discussed by dignitaries and legal luminaries. The valedictory session was presided over by Vice-Chancellor Nishtha Jaswal. Prof R Venkata Rao, former Vice-Chancellor, National Law School of India University, Bangalore, was the chief guest. The sessions were addressed by various eminent professors from across the country.
NSUI office-bearers appointed
NSUI state president Chatar Singh Thakur has appointed district presidents and state executive councils of the students’ body. The officer-bearers of the council are as follows: vice-presidents: Hamit Jamwal, Veenu Mehta, Avunash Sharma and Balwinder Singh and general secretaries: Manoj Chauhan (organisation), Abhinandan Thakur, Amit Chauhan, Amar Kumar, Vishal Negi, Alka Mehta, Vinesh Banta, Prakash Sharma, Mohit Thakur, Yasin Bhatt, Akshay Hetta, Shubham Verma, Ashish Himta, Siddhnath Kashyap and Vikramjit.
HPU extends admission date
Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) has extended the last date for admission to postgraduate courses till November 2. A university official said the decision had been taken to facilitate students who could not submit their documents due to some issues. The students could now deposit the same in person at the university.
Debate on Covid effect on students
Government Degree College, Sanjauli, conducted a debate on ‘Effect of Covid-19 on students’. At least 300 students participated in the programme through Google Meet. Principal Chander Bhan Mehta encouraged the students to keep participating in such activities.
