According to police reports, the ill-fated vehicle (HP27A-1214) was being driven by Sushila Devi, a resident of Chango in Kinnaur district. Her parents, Kunjang Gyalchan and Lobjang Dolma, were also travelling with her. The car was heading from Luhri to Karsog when the driver reportedly lost control near Kotghari, causing the vehicle to veer off the road and fall into a deep nullah below.
The impact of the crash was so great that Kunjang Gyalchan and his wife Lobjang Dolma died on the spot. The driver, Sushila Devi, sustained injuries and was immediately shifted to Rohru for medical treatment. The post-mortem of the deceased is being conducted at Rohru Hospital.
Mandi SP Sakshi Verma stated that a case has been registered at the Karsog Police Station and further investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
