One person died after a car plunged into a gorge while he was trying to park his car in Shimla. The deceased has been identified as Rakesh Kumar (48), resident of Dhanda, Shimla. He was working as a Patwari in Shimla.
The accident took place on Sunday night when he was parking his car near his house and lost its control over the vehicle. The car plunged into a gorge. As a result, he sustained fatal injuries.
The accident was noticed by the locals, who informed the police. A police team then reached the spot and rescued the injured with the help of locals. He was then rushed to Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) where he succumbed to injuries during the treatment.
Post-mortem of the deceased was conducted today after which the body was handed over to his relatives for cremation.
Police officials confirmed the report and said a case has been registered and investigation is going on.
