Kangra SP Vimukt Ranjan said that the maulvi was booked for posting a communal post that threatened to disturb communal harmony in the area.

The Tablighi Jamaat has a centre at Chul village in Thural of the district. Seven preachers of the Jamaat had been staying here since February 18. All of them are from UP but none of them had showed Covid-19 symptoms.

Meanwhile, 10 persons from Indora and Nurpur had attended the Jamaat congregation in Delhi and returned between March 13 and 20. Three of them showed symptoms and were quarantined in the Dharamsala hospital. However, they tested negative for the virus. — TNS
