Cement truck overturns on Kumarhatti flyover
A cement truck overturned on the Kumarhatti flyover along the Solan-Dharampur section of National Highway-5 on Wednesday morning, causing a significant traffic disruption. The incident occurred near the Neovedic hotel amidst cloudy weather and rain when the driver, Satish Dubey, attempted to apply brakes and stop the vehicle after a boulder rolled down from the hillside.
The truck, en route to Bengaluru from Narkanda carrying apples, reportedly lost control when its front wheel encountered the boulder. SP Solan, Gaurav Singh, confirmed that the driver and his co-driver sustained minor injuries and were taken to a local medical facility.
The apple-laden truck, bearing a Haryana registration, was later lifted from the highway by a crane. The fruit was transferred to another vehicle and efforts were made to clear the highway to restore smooth vehicular traffic.
