Central University of Himachal Pradesh inks pact with Sagar varsity

Dharamsala, February 28

Central University of Himachal Pradesh (CUHP) and Dr Harisingh Gour University, Sagar (Madhya Pradesh), will now collaborate and share resources in the areas of research, academics, extension activities and skill development. In this regard, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed at the Vice-Chancellor’s secretariat today. On this occasion, CUHP VC Sat Prakash Bansal, Harisingh Gour University (DHSGV) VC Neelima Gupta, CUHP Registrar Suman Sharma and Dean Student Welfare Sunil were present.

According to the MoU, there will be facilities for research and education, projects and programmes in various academic subjects. There will be collaboration for student and faculty development, exchange of faculty, research scholars and PG students, sharing and synthesis of knowledge and academic resources. The research results will be jointly patented during the period of the MoU and the benefits of the patent will be shared equally. Synergistic cooperation will be developed in resource-sharing and knowledge-sharing environment in various fields of science, technology and humanities.

Along with this, there will be development of academic and research programmes and sharing of expertise in training through joint organisation of programmes, joint guidance for students and internships, etc.

Besides, research programmes will be developed for funding by the internal, national and international agencies. The aim will be to develop collaboration across laboratories, along with designing, developing outreach activities and programmes for various mutually identified goals.

Speaking on the occasion, VC Sat Prakash Bansal said the DHSGV had developed Skill Hub and Community College and was working under the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) to develop skills of students in emerging sectors. Both the universities will cooperate in starting skill based courses related to the areas of beekeeping, sericulture, mushroom cultivation and tourism.
