It was decided at the 38th academic council meeting of the Central University of Himachal Pradesh (CUHP), with due approval of the academic council, that the proceedings in the statutory meetings of CUHP ‘Academic Council, Executive Council, Finance Committee, University Court’ and other meetings will now be paperless.
At the meeting chaired by the Vice Chancellor, Prof Sat Prakash Bansal, the achievements of the university were put before all members. On this occasion, he said that the National Education Policy-2020 had been implemented in the university and changes will be made in the ordinance of the university according to the policy. A committee will submit its report in 15 days, he added.
The VC added that the name of the Kashmir Study Centre, established in the university, had been changed to Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Studies. At the same time, the Government of India had given instructions to implement 44 modules of Samarth Portal, out of which the university had implemented 33.
A patent cell has been established to increase new research and encourage the faculty members of the university for patent registration. The committee formed would prepare detailed guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the establishment of patent cell in the university.
Further, during the joint official meeting regarding academic and research collaboration of Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), USA, and CUHP, it was resolved to start joint publication on three journals.
